We all have doors that shut. We've all heard that saying "when one door shuts, another opens". Well, it is true.
Painting is my solace, comfort and dream space. It is the only time time stops and the world is quiet for me.
I hope everyone can find their dream space in life.
Partly it is my solace because I have ADHD and repetitive actions calm me and help me focus.
Growing up I drew during math classes, and I drew on the bottom of tables and on the inside of my mom;s closet doors. Obviously something was trying to come out. I often made book reports with elaborate visual aids. Once I made life size cut outs and brought them dressed in my parents clothes to accompany a book report for "The Swiss Family Robinson."
Finally at 30 I was lucky enough to start studio training to become an artist. No more cut-out card board people!
The Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California carries a painting of mine as their in room postcard. So, if you go there, open the drawer and take one!
Sunstone Vineyard and Winery in Santa Ynez carries posters of a painting done for them over a decade ago. Plus, they make a mighty fine wine.
I am life-long resident of Southern California who grew up in Redondo Beach. I live with my film producer husband of 14 years live in Los Angeles with our daughter and son, and son plus our one catand one bunny.
